In this critical moment during "Les Misérables," Jean Valjean expresses one of the most emotional and touching moments of the show - a prayer for Marius. It was my goal to highlight Valjean while still leaving the audience with a "painting" of the sleeping militia behind him. By using extreme uplighting from behind the barricade, the Lightweave gobo across the casts' faces, and lots of cool high side for Valjean, I was able to create a stunning image on stage that no doubt did justice to the actor's performance.
