These photos were taken of Studio VII Theatre Company's production of "Almost, Maine". For this production I was the Lighting Designer and at the beginning of our creative process we decided that we wanted the light to really capture the temperature and emotion of the show. I started looking at which colors I wanted to use in my systems. Since the show is set in Northern Maine during the winter I started to look at different research images of Maine during the winter and food that they all contained beautifully saturated blues and purples. I looked at different manufactures to make sure that the colors that I choose were exactly what I wanted and I found that Rosco had everything that I wanted. I used R47/80 for my backlight system and R66 for my Diagonal Cool Fill system. These two main colors that I used to create the colder temperatures and I used a R02 in a Front Warm Fill System to help fill in shadows and be able to make the indoors scenes. All these colors blended together wonderfully and allowed for a seamless design that was both aesthetically pleasing and efficient.
